Avengers Assemble!

Date: 15th May 2023 Author: Scout Websites

This weekend our Cubs took part in an Avengers themed camp at Snowball Plantation. This was the first opportunity our Cub pack has had to camp in a long time due to some permitting issues meaning for many of our Cubs this was their first camp ever!

When they arrived on Friday night they were met by a campsite fit for Thor! Taking just enough time to settle in and unpack their sleeping bags, it was quickly onto activities.

Saturday lunch saw the Cubs cook their own campfire pizzas over the roaring campfire we had been nurturing all morning.

On Saturday afternoon everyone built their secret superhero bases in the woods, earning the resources to build them by answering questions about the Avengers!

On Saturday night we got together with all of the other groups camping at Snowball that weekend for one big Campfire! We had a blast singing and dancing along to all of the amazing campfire songs. Most of our leaders left without the ability to speak after singing so loudly!

On Sunday morning the cubs packed up their sleeping bags and got back on with their camp program. They spent much of the morning making camp neckers, they were able to take home with them. After that a good old wide game, and then it was onto packing up ready to go home.

We all had an amazing time and look forward to the next camp.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
